International Delegations Discover Aliplus Technology in the Heart of Allier

On October 6, 2025, at GAEC Michaud in Neuilly-en-Donjon (Allier), Chinese, Moroccan, and Ivorian delegations visited the farm to discover Aliplus, the French technology revolutionizing ruminant nutrition. Organized by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region as part of the Sommet de l’Élevage, this international visit marks a new milestone in the global reach of French agricultural innovation.

Between technical presentations, farm tours, strolls through the pastures, and a cheerful weigh-in on the truck scale, the event offered a memorable afternoon that captivated three continents.

An Afternoon of Exchange and Discovery

Aliplus Presentation: Mr. Michaud Captivates His Audience

The afternoon began with a comprehensive presentation of the Aliplus concept, led by Mr. Michaud himself. In front of the Chinese, Moroccan, and Ivorian representatives, the researcher shared his experience with this innovative technology that has transformed his farm.

What is Aliplus? An activator of positive rumen fermentations, composed of 14 synergistic natural components. Created in 2013 by a French farmer-researcher with the support of biologists and veterinarians, Aliplus adapts to all contexts: beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep, and goats.

The delegations particularly appreciated Mr. Michaud’s pragmatic approach—sharing figures, successes, and challenges. His authenticity and transparency quickly created a climate of trust.

A Friendly Moment to Deepen the Discussion

True to French tradition, a convivial coffee break allowed discussions to continue in a relaxed atmosphere. These informal exchanges revealed the universal challenges of livestock farming: profitability, autonomy, and animal welfare—shared concerns from China to Côte d’Ivoire via Morocco.

Questions poured in: adaptation to tropical climates, compatibility with local breeds, investment levels, and return on investment. Mr. Michaud responded precisely, supported by data and testimonials.

The Striking Calm of the Animals

Upon entering the barns, visitors were immediately struck by the remarkable calm of the cattle—regular rumination, serene behavior, no signs of stress. These are clear visual indicators of animal welfare brought by optimal nutrition.

“What we observed speaks louder than any presentation,” said a Chinese professor from the delegation. “Animals don’t lie.”

The Emotional Moment with the Calves

A highlight of the visit: discovering the newborn calves—vigorous and actively suckling. These lively calves reflected the vitality of their mothers nourished with Aliplus.

The delegations noted the absence of weak or sick calves. Mr. Michaud shared his data: a significantly lower neonatal mortality rate since adopting Aliplus—an argument that resonated strongly with the Ivorian delegation, who face high loss rates back home.

A Memorable Ride Through the Pastures

The Tractor Surprise

After touring the facilities, Mr. Michaud had a surprise in store: a ride through the pastures—comfortably seated on hay bales pulled by a tractor!

The enthusiasm was immediate. This original idea, far from a conventional visit, delighted the guests. Laughter and excitement filled the countryside air as the unusual convoy set off.

Understanding Forage Autonomy

During the ride, Mr. Michaud explained the core of the Aliplus system: maximizing the value of forage. By showcasing his pastures, he demonstrated how local feed resources, optimized by the ruminal activator, eliminate dependence on imported feed.

For the Chinese delegation, facing massive reliance on imported proteins, this approach offered strategic opportunities. The Moroccan and Ivorian delegations were keen to learn about adapting the system to variable forage quality.

The Grand Finale: The Truck Scale Weigh-In

A Tradition Turned Ritual

To conclude this exceptional day, Mr. Michaud invited everyone to take part in a fun tradition: a collective weigh-in on the truck scale!

Now a ritual for international visitors, the moment sparked laughter and camaraderie as Chinese, Moroccan, Ivorian, and French representatives all squeezed onto the scale usually reserved for trucks.
