France Aliplus Technical Training: Nutrition and Feed Self-Sufficiency in Cattle Farming
From April 8th to 11th, 2025, France Aliplus had the pleasure of welcoming a group of Polish cattle farmers for an exclusive training session on animal nutrition and feed self-sufficiency. This event offered a unique opportunity to deepen technical knowledge, exchange with experts, and discover best practices implemented in France.

A comprehensive program for greater feed autonomy
The training was designed to be immersive and interactive, alternating between theory and practice. Through several visits to farms and specialized companies, participants were able to see concrete feeding strategies aimed at optimizing cattle nutrition while ensuring maximum self-sufficiency.
Key highlights of the training:
- Understanding the importance of tailored nutrition for different cattle breeds.
- Discovering best practices for achieving feed self-sufficiency.
- Learning how to reach protein self-sufficiency for cows.
- Visiting benchmark French cattle farms.
- Identifying the impact of Aliplus complementary feeds.
Visits to emblematic farms
The Polish farmers had the opportunity to visit several innovative farms, each with a different approach to cattle fattening and feed management:
- SCEA Baron Daniel Farm: 1,000 fattening cattle, using mixed rations with silage.
- EARL Overlord: Specialist in the Parthenaise breed and user of the Aliplus solution.
- EARL Le Portail: Blonde d’Aquitaine and Angus herd with selective breeding.
- GAEC de la Custière: 300 Limousin cows and fattening of crossbred dairy cattle.
- GAEC Michaud (France Aliplus): 400 Charolais, Angus and Limousin cows, fed with dry rations.

The key role of the rumen in cattle nutrition
- The rumen is the central organ of the ruminant digestive system and plays a vital role in nutrient assimilation. Proper rumen management improves animal health, optimizes growth and increases productivity.
- With our natural Aliplus complementary feed, farmers can enhance rumen efficiency by promoting better fermentation of the feed. This process allows maximum extraction of nutrients from the rations provided, thereby reducing feed costs while ensuring optimal metabolism. By optimizing rumen function, Aliplus supports better absorption of proteins and energy, limiting digestive disorders and increasing farm profitability.

Why attend a training on feed self-sufficiency?
Feed self-sufficiency in cattle farming allows farmers to reduce dependence on external inputs, improve the profitability of their operations and ensure greater stability in the face of fluctuating feed costs. With tailored solutions like the Aliplus complementary feed, cattle benefit from an optimized diet that promotes growth while lowering production costs.
The advantages of feed self-sufficiency with Aliplus:
- Less dependence on external raw materials.
- Better nutritional balance for cattle.
- Reduced feeding costs: “With Aliplus, you spend less and earn more.”
- Healthier, more productive animals.
Enriching visits to self-sufficient farms
Visiting farms that have adopted feed self-sufficiency and the Aliplus solution allows farmers to see the tangible benefits of this approach firsthand. By discovering these feed management models, they return with clear ideas for implementing similar solutions on their own farms.
An evaluation to validate knowledge
To ensure effective learning, the training began with an initial knowledge test to assess each participant’s level. After four days of immersion and exchange, a final test was held. Farmers who validated their knowledge received an official France Aliplus certificate, recognizing their mastery of the principles of nutrition and feed self-sufficiency.

A successful and inspiring training
This program generated strong interest among the Polish farmers, strengthening their willingness to implement feed self-sufficiency strategies on their farms. By combining field visits, expert presentations and knowledge tests, France Aliplus reaffirmed its commitment to supporting farmers towards more efficient and sustainable practices.
The Press Talks About It
Not to be missed! In the magazine Hoduj z Głową Bydło, le journaliste Remigiusz Kryszewski, with the support of Rafał Lamperski from Aliplus Polska, has published a wonderful article covering the study tour organized in France from April 9th to 12th. A big thank you to him for this quality report!
Polish farmers, producers and distributors were able to discover firsthand the innovative grain enhancement technique developed by Samuel Michaud of France Aliplus.. This unique method allows wet grains to be preserved directly after harvest, while increasing their pH to between 8.3 and 9.3. The benefits are clear: reduced risk of acidosis, boosted protein levels, better fiber digestibility, less oxidative stress and natural protection against mycotoxins. A true solution to optimize herd health, control feed costs and gain greater autonomy on the farm.
